Our Mission

Our mission is to increase the supply of affordable housing in Richland County and enable low-income households to build wealth through homeownership and financial literacy.

Our work was recognized through the Source Media Solutions Seeker Award in July 2022. Above all, we want to prove that one can do well by doing good; that is, one can serve the best interests of the community and make money. Our goal is to use the profitable arm of our business operations to finance our mission-based work.

Why are we doing this?

  • Increasing homeownership

Communities with higher rates of homeownership are safer, the families are healthier and wealthier, the high school graduation rates are higher, and the kids have fewer behavioral problems at school.

  • Shared Economic Growth

Mansfield and Richland County are experiencing huge economic growth. Home ownership will allow low-income households to benefit from this growth and the corresponding increase in property values.

  • Build Generational Wealth

The wealth gap in America is at worryingly high levels. Homeownership is one of the best ways to build long-term, generational wealth and, therefore, close the wealth gap.

  • Increase Financial Literacy

Money and wealth are topics that only wealthy people tend to talk about. We want to change that and make it normal for households of every socioeconomic level to talk about finances.
